Child's Play on Dacer - Corbito Murder Wrap: Lacson on Silent Struggle to Win Via Cheating Arrangement

Last March 20 at around 6-7 early morning, Senator-elect Panfilo Lacson was set to meet his provincial entourage around Isabela for series of guest speakerships. Well, the “premature” politicking goes more than just a reach-out to the voting public. On March 21 (a day after his stay in Cabatuan), Lacson met with Juliet Dumlao (wife of Glenn Dumlao) inside Amity Hotel. Long before that, Ping was frequently seen meeting Mrs. Dumlao last March 12 near Narag Hospital in Cauayan, Isabela. These secret meetings were ofcourse fitting as former superintendent Cesar Mancao wrote an affidavit putting Lacson on hot seat of prime suspects for the Dacer-Corbito double murder. Rumor has it that Ping is actually manipulating the Dumlaos. Lacson was apparently trying to buy Glenn out and have him recanting his previous statements that could ofcourse scrap Mancao’s affidavit.

Can you just imagine how the good senator turned tables for his benefit?

Other than this by-out with the Dumlaos, Lacson previously divulged supposed conversation with Mancao last January of 2007, where the senator is insinuating that Mancao promised him loyalty then and that he could only be forced now in exchange of so-called re-instatement package. The brief sms message was one way or another successful in putting malicious skepticism to the disclosed affidavit. Lacson made it sure that the people doubt Mancao’s intent to include establishing his claimed MalacaƱang power play.

But he can’t fool Juan dela Cruz with such “charm”, can’t he?

A look back with the Dacer-Corbito case one could outlay the importance of both Dumlao and Mancao continually sticking to their sworn statements. And ofcourse, one could also see the “importance” of Lacson sabotaging it to protect not only his reputation but his 2010 presidential candidacy.

Mancao was Lacson’s former aide and head of PAOC-TF Luzon Task Group. He was under Michael Ray Aquino who was then the PAOC’s Chief of Operations. Meantime, under Mancao was Glenn Dumlao, his Luzon-TG Opns Chief. Initial inquest of the Dacer-Corbito case in 2000 involved the outright identification of Dumlao by now detained SP04 Mariano Soberano, SP03s Jose Escalante and Mauro Torres together with PO2 Thomas Sarmiento. All these detainees admitted guilty to the murder slay. All four particularly Torres actuated the killing of Dacer and Corbito together with two other PAOC-TF civilian informants tagged Digo de Pedro (still at large) and suspect turned state witness-Alex Digoy.

In rationale, initial investigations had already nipped the heads of abovementioned subordinates who unfortunately lived-up to the orders from the higher ups. At this point, loose ends in the trial and verdict of said case lies greatly on the so-called 3-kings of PAOC-TF (Aquino, Mancao and Dumlao). This 3-kings is where the controversial order to kill Dacer had in fact originated. And with Mancao’s affidavit, strong evidence is on hand to incriminate both Lacson and deposed President Joseph Estrada to the case. Dumlao who is also facing extradition in the US is at this time the only one who could corroborate the said affidavit. His presence in the trial together with Mancao is formidable substance for the prosecution.

Other than the secret meetings with Dumlaos family in Isabela, the flight of Lacson’s finance officer in the US jives well with the $100,000 extradition bail bond guaranteed for Glenn. The bail actuality made it possible for Glenn to stay a lot longer in the US. Thus, it is a possibility that Lacson at this early stage could be buying Glenn’s recantations through his wife. Besides, it had been rumored before that Lacson actually financed Dumlaos flight to the US last 2005 in the first place. He definitely could have drawn-out the cash on this one. Let us not forget it would be worth Lacson’s career.

Lacson knows well enough that only through Dumlao withdrawing his previous testimony can the Dacer-Corbito case turn positively for his sake.

Lacson needs Dumlao to Recant

Former Police Superintendent Cesar Mancao bailed-out on Sen. Panfilo Lacson that leaves no room for error on courting Glenn Dumlao to recant.

The Mancao affidavit is enough to substantiate 2005 Glenn Dumlao’s testimony involving the PAOC-TF in the murder of Erap Estrada publicist- Bubby Dacer. It seemed Lacson forgot to rehearse Mancao on this one, but will that mean letting Dumlao off easily? Will Lacson gamble his career for another “lip-service” from Dumlao that involves an alibi that could bail him out of the case?

Not likely. Coincidental as claimed by Lacson, the visits in Isabela particularly the meetings with the Juliet Dumlao (wife of Glenn Dumlao) and the anonymously sourced $100,000 extradition bail bond are obviously two incidents with intents one and the same.

And, that is to court Glenn to recant his 2005 testimony and weaken the affidavit of Mancao in exchange for a longer stay in the US. This means a “stay” good enough to evade trial and prosecution here in the country where Dumlao was by far branded as prime suspect.

The paid bail is entirely the reason why Dumlao is still in the US; still on absentee status despite the progress of the case in the country. It is quite obvious that Dumlao with the help of a so-called generous donor are buying-out time delaying the proceedings altogether and paving way for certain Atty Alex Ovisado to establish claim that the remains in Indang Cavite were not of Dacer and Corbito. As such, the absence of the victims’ bodies literally scraps the criminal charges wherein Dumlao walks away a free man along with Lacson and Erap who were dragged on the case. A perfect cover-up good enough for ambitious solons ofcourse.

Won’t Mrs. Dumlao support the idea? Won’t she choose Dumlao getting freed than having him locked behind a steal door?

The Bombo Radyo interview of Juliet was by far the stupidest remark people heard with regard to the Dacer-Corbito case. She claimed that she misses her husband and wants him home but had she forgotten that the moment Glenn stepped-out of the plane he’d be going straight to Manila city jail and not exactly on her lap? Is she really that desperate to see Glenn that he’d sold him out?

The possibility of the Dumlaos conniving with one of Mancao’s 21-list of Dacer suspects is not entirely illogical. Besides, the government could not guarantee Glenn a state witness status on the case. He is among the long list of suspects with their necks hanging on the line.

And ofcourse, needless to say, influential honchos such as Lacson and Erap were included on the line-up. Both have everything to lose; 2010 candidacy, people’s confidence and on top of it their protected names. Like Dumlao, they fear imprisonment and most especially public disgust. All three allying would inevitably mean riddling recantations and ofcourse skepticism towards the now controversial affidavit. That way, as much as it would be ironic, the trio (Lacson, Erap and Glenn) could all go free. That is worth the $100,000 cash bond and ofcourse millions of protection and sell-out money.
